高鋁球是氧化鋁球的一個(gè)類別，由于其氧化鋁含量較高而被簡(jiǎn)稱為高鋁球。高鋁球根據(jù)氧化鋁含量又可細(xì)分為90、92、95、99等系列。高鋁球由于其具有高強(qiáng)度、高硬度、高耐磨性，比重大、體積小、耐高溫、耐腐蝕、無(wú)污染等優(yōu)異特性而被廣泛的運(yùn)用于不同類型的陶瓷、瓷釉、玻璃、化工等等工廠的厚硬材質(zhì)精加工和深加工。
高鋁球的使用者以陶瓷廠為主，目前有數(shù)據(jù)顯示，使用鵝卵石（天然球石）+10%高鋁球（φ35MM）研磨稀泥，對(duì)比只用鵝卵石，能縮短１５％的研磨時(shí)間；使用中鋁球+30%高鋁球（φ35MM）研磨稀泥，對(duì)比只用中鋁球，能縮短30%左右的研磨時(shí)間，單純以節(jié)省下來(lái)的電費(fèi)計(jì)算，大概2年時(shí)間就能把因?yàn)槭褂酶咪X球而高出的成本“省”回來(lái)。有個(gè)別廠家的報(bào)告顯示，全部用高鋁球代替原來(lái)的天然球石，產(chǎn)量大約是原來(lái)的3倍。用高鋁球研磨原料，不僅能節(jié)省電費(fèi)，提高產(chǎn)量，而且提高機(jī)械使用效率，對(duì)機(jī)械設(shè)備有很大的保護(hù)作用。
除陶瓷行業(yè)外，石英、化工等行業(yè)也在陸續(xù)嘗試、使用高鋁球進(jìn)行生產(chǎn)。其中石英廠主要用于生產(chǎn)硅微粉，實(shí)踐證明，如生產(chǎn)325目的硅微粉，用高鋁球替代石英球研磨，能顯著提高產(chǎn)量和產(chǎn)品的質(zhì)量，如白度、均勻度等，而且由于損耗速度沒有石英球快，就省下了添加球石的人力和時(shí)間成本。

產(chǎn)品具有特耐磨、抗沖擊、方便施工等特點(diǎn)，其理論耐磨性能相當(dāng)于錳鋼的260倍，鉻鋼的170倍。實(shí)際應(yīng)用測(cè)算，可有效延長(zhǎng)設(shè)備易磨損部位的使用壽命提高10倍以上。
